Position Title: MRT Cleaner

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Singapore (Various MRT Stations and Train Lines)

Working Days: 5–6 Days per Week

Shift Options: Day Shift and Night Shift (rotational or fixed depending on assignment)

Salary Range: SGD 1,500 – SGD 2,500 per month (depending on experience, performance, and shift allocation)

Job Summary

As an MRT Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across MRT stations and train cabins. This includes routine cleaning, deep cleaning, waste management, and sanitation tasks. You will play a critical role in supporting public health and ensuring a pleasant commuting environment for passengers. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

General Cleaning Duties

You will be required to carry out daily cleaning tasks in MRT stations and train interiors. This includes sweeping, mopping floors, wiping surfaces, and ensuring that all areas are free from dust, dirt, and debris.

Train Cleaning Operations

Clean train cabins thoroughly during operational breaks or after service hours. This includes seats, poles, windows, floors, and high-touch surfaces to maintain hygiene standards.

Waste Collection and Disposal

Collect rubbish from bins located throughout stations and trains. Ensure proper disposal in designated waste areas while following environmental and safety guidelines.

Toilet Cleaning and Maintenance

Maintain cleanliness of public restrooms within MRT stations. Tasks include scrubbing floors, disinfecting surfaces, refilling supplies such as soap and tissue, and ensuring a hygienic environment at all times.

Surface Disinfection

Regularly disinfect high-contact surfaces such as handrails, ticket machines, escalator handles, and lift buttons to minimize the spread of germs.

Spill Management

Respond quickly to spills or accidents to prevent hazards. Use appropriate cleaning materials and warning signs to ensure public safety.

Equipment Handling

Operate cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, and cleaning carts efficiently and safely.

Stock Monitoring

Ensure that cleaning supplies are adequately stocked and report shortages to supervisors in a timely manner.

Compliance with Safety Standards

Follow workplace safety procedures and guidelines strictly, including wearing protective equipment and using cleaning chemicals responsibly.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure all assigned areas are cleaned according to schedule and standards.

Work Environment

You will be working in a fast-paced public transportation environment where cleanliness is crucial. Depending on your assigned shift, you may work during peak hours or overnight when trains are not in operation. The role may involve standing for long hours, bending, lifting, and handling cleaning tools and equipment.
